sunset in kiwalan cove, originally uploaded by dczypher.

during the last day of our internal control testing, we were able to finish everything and do the closing meeting as early as 1pm giving us enough time to roam around the city and buy something to bring back home..

after some shopping, we went back to the guest house just in time for this very nice sunset.. tried a lot of attempts before i got what i wanted..

not perfect but good enough for me..

waiting and eager to go back home tomorrow after 5 days stay here in iligan…

peaceful retreat

Have you ever been to a place so serene and holy you’ve felt holy yourself?

Have you ever heard angelic voices singing praises to God?

There is one place where you’ll experience all these as I have… and you may be surprised it’s just near those places you’ve been before.

I’m talking about the Pink Sisters’ place of worship in Tagaytay.

pink sisters

The Pink Sisters as they are called there can be heard singing praises in this very simple place of worship.  The nuns got their name literally from their pink religious attire.  The architecture, exterior and interior, is so plain making prayers more solemn.  The nuns are separated from the rest of the church goers by metal fabrication.  They would sing praises on their scheduled time of the day.

The Pink Sister’s place of worship is surrounded by large pine trees, compensating the temperature of the place giving a ”feel” of a foreign land.  Nature is also preserved at the place of worship with a pilgrimage trail under the shades of trees and other ornamental plants.

Also located nearby is another good retreat place, the Angels’ Hills.  You may wish to drop by the place, about 200 meters away from the Pink Sisters.

On your next visit to Tagaytay, maybe you can spend some time on these places… and get back to me if you feel it’s worth your time and effort…

It’s just sad, though, that I wasn’t able to buy my first 120 mm film for Diana… :(

But our purpose there is to give thanks to the Lord for all the blessings He have given us, Diana’s performance (or the lack of it) is just secondary…

white flower

this is one of my mother’s new baby.. she finds time taking good care of her flowering plants at home in bicol watering them every morning.. something like a “daily ritual”..

i was fortunate enough to have a picture of the flower at its most beautiful stage.. the day after i took this picture, some of the petals started to wither.. but i think that’s the purpose of its existence… to give happiness to its owner even in the shortest period of time… and i know it will bloom again… someday..

san francisco church

i got this when we visited naga last december, 2006.  construction is still in progress. i wasn’t able to get its picture, though, last september due to the massive devotees around downtown naga.
