in the eyes of a child

Air Supply
(Graham Russell and Ron Bloom)

When you look to the past for lifes long hidden meaning
For the dreams and the plans made in your youth
Does the thrill to achieve match the warm hidden feeling
That lies so still and lives in you

In the eyes of a child there is joy, there is laughter
There is hope, there is trust, a chance to shape the future
For the lessons of life there is no better teacher
Than the look in the eyes of a child

Youve found the place to walk the path youve chosen
Youll never miss the world youve left behind
When life gives life, its happiness unbroken
When you give love, its love youll find

In the eyes of a child there is joy, there is laughter
There is hope, there is trust, a chance to shape the future
For the lessons of life there is no better teacher
Than the look in the eyes of a child

In the eyes of a child there is joy, there is laughter
There is hope, there is trust, a chance to shape the future
For the lessons of life there is no better teacher
Than the look in the eyes of a child

In the eyes of a child there is joy, there is laughter
There is hope, there is trust, a chance to shape the future
For the lessons of life there is no better teacher
Than the look in the eyes of a child

first time

2 10 2007

There’s always the first time… and my first time was not so good… it was awful…

I’m talking about the my first singing performance in front of the public (schoolmates at least).  It was the organizations, fraternities and sororities’ gathering and I was one of the “latest batch” (or so?) of the University’s first and only Honor Fraternity.  I was accompanied by one of our brods (Brod Emil) who did the guitar… and our song goes something like this:

~~~~
Don’t Touch My Birdie
Parokya ni Edgar
Narration:
Look!
Up in the sky!
It’s a bird! Aaayyy!
Bird Nga!
Kapag ako’y nababato
Pinaglalaruan ko ang birdie ko
Ang cute cute naman kasi
Kaya ko siya binili
My birdie is my bestfriend
Ang dami naming maliligayang sandali
Madalas ko siyang pinapakain ng birdseed
Mahal kita o birdie ko, ‘wag kang lalayo
Chorus:
Don’t touch my birdie
Resist temptation please
You don’t have to grab my birdie
Just call it, and it will come
Adlib:
Ang birdie ko ay nakakatuwa
Parang cobra na mahilig manuka
Kapag nilabas na mula sa kulungan
Tuloy-ttuloy na ang aming kasiyahan
Di naman ako madamot talaga
Ayaw ko lang na hinahawakan s’ya ng iba
Ang birdie ko ay medyo masungit
Konting hawak lang siguradong magagalit
Repeat Chorus:
Interlude:
It will come
Bridge:
Huwag ka sanang magalit sa akin
Tuwing ang birdie ko ay aking hihimasin
Sana’y maunawaan mo
Mahal na mahal ko ang birdie ko
Pati mga itlog nito
Repeat Chorus: (2x)
Coda:
It will come
It will come
~~~~

ps.  i haven’t memorized the song that time as i wasn’t ready to do that trick… so what can you get… a faltering singer who stops in the middle of the song.. :)
